NextLevel Acoustics to Showcase Immersive Audio at CEDIA 2026

NextLevel Acoustics will unveil a new immersive audio demo at CEDIA 2026, titled “Beyond the Room.” Produced by Nick Matzke from Bayview Audio, the presentation aims to demonstrate the movement, scale, and power of modern high-performance home cinema systems. The event is part of the CEDIA 9.4.6 Sound Room 7 experience, where attendees will first hear a special Lumagen Presents: Paragons of Home Cinema – Episode II edition of the demo. Following that opening, the showcase will feature a curated selection of clips designed to highlight the technical strengths of several partner brands, including NextLevel Acoustics, Lumagen, Christie, Storm Audio, Stewart Filmscreen, SpeakerPower, Simplified Acoustics, and Cinemotion Posters.

A Return to Classic Demo Discs

The concept behind the new production pays homage to a specific part of CEDIA history: the tradition of discovering fresh demo material at the show and bringing it back to the showroom. “Beyond the Room” is intended to rekindle that excitement for a new generation of listeners. Rather than using familiar movie clips, the content was created as dedicated demonstration material. It features sound moving around and above the listener, powerful low-frequency moments, and precise placement of effects and large-scale transitions meant to make the room disappear.

On Sept. 2, when CEDIA opens, a download link for the new material will go live. This allows dealers, integrators, and enthusiasts to use the content across a wide range of applications. According to Lee Weber, co-owner of NextLevel Acoustics, the inspiration came from the simple joy of finding a great demo at the trade show and sharing it with friends, family, and customers. He said that was the driving force behind the project, aiming to create something people would be excited to experience at the show and equally eager to bring home and play in their own theaters.

While the lineup of partner brands suggests a broad technical display, the practical utility of such content for a dealer’s showroom remains a point of interest. If the new material functions as intended, it could provide integrators with a tangible asset to demonstrate the difference between standard surround sound and a fully immersive setup. However, the long-term adoption of specialized demo content often depends on how easily it fits into the daily workflow of a busy installation business, rather than just the technical merits of the audio itself. The industry has seen a shift toward streaming services and digital libraries in recent years, which makes a physical or direct digital distribution method like this potentially useful for maintaining a distinct identity for a showroom presentation.
