The Dynamibus will park outside House of ICON at Shoreditch Town Hall from 15 to 17 September, inviting designers to experience its furniture on board.
Schedule and display
The Dynamibus arrives on 15 September and remains parked at 380 Old Street, EC1V 9LT, for three days. Inside, it carries a working edit of the trade-only supplier’s range, featuring soft seating produced at its Northampton factory and PET felt samples from the SCH! acoustic line.
Its customers are spread across the United Kingdom, while production stays at the home site.
Why a moving showroom?
Founder Carl Verlander argues that photographs cannot convey a sofa’s feel. “Designers want to sit on the product and push at the foam, look at the stitching,” he said.
Rather than host a fixed space near Clerkenwell, Verlander chose a vehicle that can travel to a designer’s office on a Tuesday and appear at a festival on a Friday. “A showroom asks everybody to come to you,” he added.
The exterior of the Routemaster remains unchanged, preserving the classic open platform at the rear. Inside, the lower deck now holds soft seating and height-adjustable desks, while the upper deck hosts task and operator chairs.

Wheel arches intrude into the lower deck where seating is needed. The company fabricated custom units that follow the curve of the arches, allowing the layout to flow around them instead of being dictated by the structure.
“You can’t move a wall and you can’t move an arch,” Verlander explained. “Whatever you put in has to survive being driven up the M1 afterwards.” The solution taught the team more about spatial planning than any conventional showroom could.
The vehicle itself makes the point that the furniture is meant to make.
The company’s furniture follows the same modular principle. Seats can shift between configurations, covers are removable for recycling, and the soft seating carries a ten-year guarantee.
“The question I get asked is how long something will last,” Verlander noted. “If you can put that right on site in an afternoon, you’ve got something a client keeps for many, many years.”
Visitors may climb aboard the bus during the three-day event and sit on the displayed pieces. For a full view of the range, the firm directs interested parties to its website.
